With more than 100 years of history on campus, our Greek community is founded on the ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, and friendship. The office of Student Organizations Services manages the Fraternity Housing Initiative, a program designed to improve the quality of fraternity houses while fostering living environments that encourage leadership and academic advancement.
WVU’s Student Organization Services and Student Affairs have taken on a revitalization project which would make any parent proud. The Fraternity Housing Initiative allows the University to contract fraternity houses and provide guidance and oversight, including meal plans, house directors, custodial services and parking. It is a win-win situation for all involved.
Hazing is strictly prohibited by both WVU and the state of West Virginia. More information about the code and law can be found here .
With closer supervision and retaining a house director who will reside in each house there will be a better opportunity for members to return to the roots of fraternity life – brotherhood, leadership, scholarship, community service, and philanthropy. Students will in turn feel more engaged in their college experience. By providing solid leadership and advocacy both within the house and through the Student Organization Services office, Greek Life at WVU will become the standard to which other campuses will look.
